Renee Beauty Branding

A brand that combines skincare and beauty. The idea for the brand comes from my own struggle with acne and finding suitable products for my skin. I decided to create a concept for a brand that focuses on these problems.

CHALLENGE

Creating a visual identity for a makeup and skincare brand.

The main objective was to understand the brand positioning and construct an identity that visually conveys the genuine essence of the brand.
SOLUTION

Defining the Brand's Position and Purpose

By gaining insight into the brand's positioning and purpose, I could then move forward with finalizing components such as the brand name, logo, and visual identity
PART I

The Purpose

I compiled a list of brand attributes, including terms like caring, dependable, optimistic, modern, fresh, compassionate, honest, and pure. I chose to begin with "compassionate" in my word map because I aim for people to connect with the brand and recognize that it genuinely cares about them.

Drawing from personal experiences, I've noticed a tendency for people to be insensitive when addressing skincare issues, and I want the brand to stand out as understanding and empathetic in this regard.
PART II

Colour Palette & Moodboard

The calming nature of the products is mirrored in the various shades of blue, while the sea green is reminiscent of sea water which has healing properties due to the nutrients present in it.
PART III

Brand Name & Logo Options

Mirra

In Sanskrit, the word Mira
means ocean or sea.

In Arabic, it means queen-like
or female ruler
.

In Slavic, it means peace.

Combined with the word mirror, it brings emphasis on our perception of ourselves

Cean

Cean combines the two words ocean and cyan.

This combination instantly puts an image in one’s mind that can be associated with freshness.


Renee

The word Renee comes from ‘serene’ as well as the French word rené which means rebirth.

This name refers to the rebirth of one’s skin and confidence

Packaging

To make the representation of the shades different, I chose the seaweed for the colour of the product based on the person’s skin shade.
